EB presents a new Adobe® Photoshop® plug-in for EB GUIDE Studio that enables direct access to designs from Photoshop®. The plug-in can extract layers and effects straight into EB GUIDE Studio, saving both time and costs.
With the Photoshop® plug-in, you can now import graphics into EB GUIDE Studio for further editing. This saves time for both designers and developers and thus accelerates the development of state-of-the-art human machine interfaces (HMI).
The plug-in is already in use for the first time at Johnson Controls, one of the worlds leading suppliers of automotive interiors, electronics and batteries. Concerning the new product, Laurent Le Couls, the project leader and system developer at Johnson Controls, says: 'The simple Photoshop® plug-in drastically shortens the modelling times for our HMI projects.'
The data transfer process takes place in two steps: The script first exports layer and graphical material from Photoshop® which is then stored temporarily in an XML file. From the XML file, the EB GUIDE Studio plug-in then generates graphical control elements, which the user can utilise as buttons, sliders, animated widgets or full views in EB GUIDE Studio.
The script for Photoshop® version CS3 can be downloaded free of charge from the following website: www.elektrobit.com
