Erlangen, Germany, April 10, 2008 – EB has introduced the first release of the new EB 5100 FlexRay and CAN interface hardware solution to the market. The solution incorporates two FlexRay controllers in the FPGA and a high-performance microcontroller for the calculation of customer-specific functions directly on the hardware. Optionally, two additional CAN channels can be integrated via plug-in modules. The EB 5100 offers fast data transmission with minimal latency times, thanks to the backplane bus system. It is optimised for applications in different hardware and software environments.
EB 5100 is a FlexRay and CAN interface hardware based on the PMC card standard which, due to the greatly extended driver support, can be integrated in nearly any system. As a result of this PMC card standard, the EB 5100 can be used on different carrier boards in PCI, PXI, VME or also PHS bus based systems. The card is equipped with a high-performance microcontroller in order to be able to perform calculations in real-time directly on board. The hardware interacts with the EB tresos Busmirror rest-bus simulation solution and, via open programming interfaces, can also be easily integrated in different host systems, such as Windows and LINUX. The scope of delivery also includes drivers for NI/LabVIEW, as well as for time-critical applications with ETAS Labcar and NI/LabVIEW Realtime. Drivers for the Matlab/Simulink xPC real-time hardware are available upon request.
The configuration of the drivers takes place with the EB tresos Busmirror software. The release of the EB 5100 is now available.
