Elektrobit Announces The Availability of CPRI IP Design Blocks
ITU Telecom, Hong-Kong, 5. December, 2006.

Elektrobit announced today the availability of CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) IP design blocks. The products are aimed at information technology OEMs who produce OBSAI (Open Base Station Architecture Initiative) and CPRI compliant devices.

In addition to the earlier released the OBSAI RP3-01 IP block Elektrobit announces now the availability of the CPRI IP block. The IP blocks are available for WiMAX and WCDMA technologies. OBSAI and CPRI interfaces provide interoperability between different vendor units. Elektrobit's advanced CPRI IP technology blocks enable cost savings and shorter design time for telecom CPRI compliant base station designs.

'The availability of these design blocks further strengthens our portfolio offering to the OEMs developing OBSAI or CPRI compliant products. This will give our customers even better a position in getting their OBSAI or CPRI compliant products faster to the market', says Mr. Kauko Väinämö, Director of Elektrobit's Radio Network Solutions Business Unit.

The designs are complete building blocks to implement the connection between the RF and Base Band parts of a cellular base station. Also, the utilization of this design makes the R&D phase of a base station shorter. The IP block can be inserted into an FPGA or an ASIC circuit.
