Audi MMI 2G Maintenance Project Success Story

The Company

Headquartered in Ingolstadt, Germany, AUDI AG is one of the major manufacturers of luxury cars and is a 99%-owned subsidiary (as of 2004) of Volkswagen, the largest car manufacturer in Europe. Audi produces more than 960,000 cars per year with several renowned models in its line-up of A-series cars, which include the A4, A6, and A8.

The Solution

By assigning the whole project maintenance to EB as a high quality Automotive software and external development partner and appointing EB as main contact for all suppliers, Audi could relieve its work burden to a great extent and put their development effort into creating the next generation MMI.

The Challenge

End of 2005 Audi sought a solution of how to enhance innovations of their subsequent Infotainment system while sustaining the maintenance, services and release management around their existing MMI system for the 2007 and 2008 series of Audi A4, A6, A8 and Q7.

The Benefit

Audi could benefit of EB's longtime Automotive Software know how and transferred the whole maintenance project responsibility with confidence to EB. That way, its own development team could be released for new projects. EB made use of its own resources and international branch offices which helped Audi to bring new innovations faster to market.
