Partnerships are central to EB’s success. Our partner ecosystem consists of carmakers, suppliers, silicon vendors, and service providers.
We value the unique visions of our partners and are proud to play a supporting role in validating, enhancing, and executing on those unique visions. Here are just a few of our many partnerships:
- Since 2008 EB has been a system integrator and application developer for the Microsoft-based Ford SYNC platform, a fully integrated, voice-activated, in-car communication and entertainment system for mobile phones and digital music players. Our work on this large, long-term project demonstrates our ability to ensure the functionality of a modular system with multiple suppliers.
- In 2009 EB began a joint venture with Audi Electronics Ventures (AEV), working successfully on the software for the new generation of infotainment for the VW Group. The venture has taken a wholly new path in the development of infotainment systems. It is a unique instance in the automobile industry where a carmaker has entrusted the development responsibility of its infotainment software to a partnership.
- The GENIVI Alliance is a nonprofit consortium whose goal is to establish a globally competitive, Linux-based operating system, middleware, and platform for the automotive in-vehicle infotainment industry. EB joined GENIVI as an associate member in 2011. This strategic partnership aims to combine EB’s automotive know-how and product offerings with GENIVI’s customer base.
EB is also evaluating other initiatives, such as the Open Automotive Alliance, which aims to bring the Android platform into cars; and EB continues to be a key player in the AUTOSAR consortium, FlexRay, OSEK/VDX, LIN, MOST, and NDS (Navigation Data Standard).
