BMW OSEK- and AUTOSAR-compliant Standard Core

Products: EB tresos
Categories: AUTOSAR

The company

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, BMW AG is a major manufacturer of performance and luxury cars. It owns and produces the MINI brand and is the parent company of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. BMW produces more than one million cars per year.

The challenge

BMW started using standard software-in-series production as early as 2001 in all body and chassis ECUs. The Standard Core includes up to 56 basic software modules. The company wanted to substitute selected standard modules with their own modules. So, BMW searched for a partner to take over the integration work.

The solution

EB became the main supplier of the BMW Standard Core in 1997. From then until now, BMW has contracted EB to develop the majority of its basic software modules and to fully integrate the Standard Core versions SC3 to SC6 and BMW AUTOSAR Core BAC2.1, BAC3, and BAC4 on a great variety of hardware platforms.

The benefit

EB‘s expertise in ECU software development has helped BMW and its ECU suppliers to efficiently port and make project-specific integrations of the BMW Standard Core.
