EB RACE: a Sophisticated Approach to Analyzing Complex Automotive Software Systems

Comprehending the complexity of a software system early in the development cycle is the key to identifying its defects and shortcomings. Comprehension improves overall architecture and quality and reduces development costs significantly. EB RACE is there to help you see the larger picture.

EB RACE allows experts with already-strong methodologies to continuously analyze and validate a software system. The EB RACE approach helps to overcome the challenges inherent in each software development phase and, ultimately, achieve sustainable success.

EB Tech Day, Paris, France

All major automotive players, including French carmakers and the all-important Tier 1’s, met this October 14 in Roissy (Paris) for EB Tech Day. A main goal of the Paris Tech Day was to make sure our customers were aware of the cutting-edge safety, security, and Ethernet technologies available for AUTOSAR.

Also emphasized were the ramifications of the rapid evolution of electronic architectures to support partial or full autonomous driving. A highlight of the day was a dynamic presentation illustrating cross-domain applications that are enabled by EB technologies (AUTOSAR and ADAS).

The event was a great success and has generated much interest in the topics and technologies discussed. We look forward to seeing our industry colleagues next year.

The Auto Industry Takes the Road to Autonomy

"You can still drive yourself, but you can also use the time to watch movies or read books, or to prepare for a meeting at the office on your commute" and "things like driving to a garage autonomously, picking you up at your doorstep, or changing lanes on the highway, we will see that happening over the next few years."

These and other visions of future driving materialized from discussions between EB’s Head of Driver Assistance, Björn Giesler, and other industry leaders from CA Technologies, Zipcar, and TE Connectivity. Read more about how digital transformation will change the way we drive.

EB Expert Discusses Fail-Operational Systems, Automotive SPICE, and Security

Stuttgart and Regensburg, Germany

On November 11, EB’s Alexander Much presented “The Safe State: Design Patterns and Degradation Mechanisms for Fail-Operational Systems” to an audience of peers at the safetronic2015 conference. The day before, Alexander had the honor of being invited by Continental to present “Dealing with Security Projects. SPICE & Security: Quo Vadis?” at the Gate4SPICE event in Regensburg. Both presentations address automotive safety and security issues relevant to today’s vehicles.

If you missed the events but are interested in learning from our expert, you can view slides from the presentations below:

Webinar: Map Updates for Autonomous Driving – The Sensor Cloud Approach

In this recent webinar, Holger Dormann, Senior Project Manager, Connected Car, outlines how today´s insufficient digital map making technology poses a challenge to the future of autonomous driving. Hear about the technologies involved and how the privacy concerns of connected cars impact the map enrichment process. Through use-case scenarios Holger illustrates how EB applied Big Data expertise to address the concerns in a secure and scalable manner.

Webinar: Understanding Hybrid Automotive Navigation

As part of the Automotive Megatrends webinar series, Oliver Jesorsky, EB Navigation Product Manager, offered up a 60-minute exploration of hybrid automotive navigation. Key questions answered were:

  • What are hybrid systems and which data is hybridized?
  • How does hybrid navigation differ from current technologies?
  • What is the value hybrid navigation creates?
Attendees learned about high-volume content and dynamic data. They also discovered how precisely defined system architecture affords independence from content providers, and how scalability can be conveniently attuned to various project sizes, as well as to worldwide markets.
