VW & BlackBerry will share deep insights on challenges and experiences of high-performance computing

Digitalization is changing the automotive industry dramatically. New approaches with respect to E/E architectures, software platforms and communication paradigms are required.

At ACC (Automotive Computing Conference), e.g. Dr. Marcel Wille from Volkswagen will talk about "Adaptive AUTOSAR is on the road – challenges & experiences for series development at Volkswagen".

Additionally, there will be a unique panel discussion, led by John Wall, Senior Vice President of BlackBerry and Prof. Dr. Riehle, Professor for Open Source Software at Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Baidu & EB cooperation: Reliable and safe maps for automated driving

Baidu & EB cooperation: Reliable and safe maps for automated driving

Using map data in automated driving applications raises three main questions: Which applications require it? Can it be used for safety-related functions? And: In what ways can highly reliable maps be created?

To examine these crucial questions in depth, EB’s Steffen Kuhn cooperated with Baidu’s Yali Wang and created a technical white paper.

EB AUTOSAR-based software products supported by Synopsys and Infineon collaboration

EB AUTOSAR-based software products supported by Synopsys and Infineon collaboration

EB’s collaboration partner Synopsys recently announced the expansion of the automotive Center of Excellence collaboration with Infineon to deliver Synopsys VDKs for Infineon’s third-generation AURIX microcontroller family.

In May, EB and Synopsys announced their collaboration bringing together Synopsys VDKs and EB operating systems to provide a solution that will accelerate system testing cycles and enable OEMs to transition from physical to virtual system testing.

The Synopsys and Infineon cooperation now allows EB to provide our embedded and connected AUTOSAR-based software products for future generations ahead of time.

Handling critical system behavior: introduction to STPA, a new safety approach

Handling critical system behavior: introduction to STPA, a new safety approach

Over the last 30 years the automobile has transformed from being widely mechanical to a complex electromechanical system. As a result of this evolution, developers are facing a growing number of challenges when it comes to handling critical system behavior.

A new approach – System-Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) – is one of few strategies to tackle these challenges.

EB experts led through a free webinar and gave insights in the working principles and motivation behind the STPA approach and explained further details based on an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) module.

EB and TomTom: The role of HD maps

EB and TomTom: The role of HD maps

At this year’s ROAD in Helmond, the Netherlands – a well-received conference on the purpose of autonomous driving – leading automotive companies, research facilities, and government representatives gathered for presentations and breakout sessions to discuss about future and autonomous mobility.
EB’s Nicole Beringer gave a joint keynote together with Evert Schaeffer of TomTom about what role HD maps and environmental knowledge beyond the sensor horizon of vehicles play in bringing automated and autonomous driving to mass production.
