Elektrobit (EB) and Nuance Humanize the New Audi TT

Elektrobit (EB) and Nuance unveiled the integration of voice and natural language understanding (NLU) as part of the Virtual Cockpit in the new Audi TT Roadster, at the Paris Motor Show. The new Audi TT’s Virtual Cockpit enables drivers to engage in a more natural, conversational dialogue with Audi’s Infotainment and navigation capabilities.

EB has integrated this industry-leading voice technology into the application developer ecosystem, ensuring smooth communication with applications like navigation, phone, organizer and other systems. “Natural language understanding is an integral part of Audi’s revolutionary Virtual Cockpit concept, and makes the in-car experience as intuitive as the driving dynamics,” said Markus Schupfner, Executive Vice President Operations, at EB's Automotive Business Segment. 10 Years of Intelligent HMI Development with EB GUIDE

Today, it is hardly imaginable that EB GUIDE, one of the world´s leading development tools for complex automotive HMIs, was based on three theses of German students. Started as an in-house tool, it was used for the first time in 2004, in a real HMI project and due to a strong demand became a commercial product.

As the development tool for Graphical User Interface Design, the name GUIDE was reflected in the beginning. Later, the name evolved into EB GUIDE and the capacities of the tool were extended enormously. Learn more about the evolution of HMI development in the past 10 years.

Elektrobit (EB) Presents First AUTOSAR Multi-Core Safety Operating System

EB paves the way for future automotive electronics trends with an operating system supporting multicore ECUs at highest Automotive Safety Level ASIL D.

Elektrobit presents its new operating system EB tresos Safety OS Multi-Core for automotive ECUs (electronic control units). It is the first safety-operating system in the automotive industry that enables carmakers and suppliers to create AUTOSAR-based multicore control units that conform to the highest Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL D) according to ISO 26262. EB tresos Safety OS Multi-Core is available for automotive safety microcontrollers like Infineon AURIX and Freescale Qorivva. It combines the flexibility of AUTOSAR multi-core software architectures with the needs of safety projects. Read the entire press release here.

Continuous Software Production with “EB Automotive Software Factory”

Robert Holzwarth, Head of Technology & Innovation Software Integration Services at Elektrobit, authored an article about industrialized integration and validation of driver assistance software for series production featured in the dSPACE magazine, September edition.

The complexity of software systems in vehicles is increasing at the expense of the development of new innovative driver assistance functions. The “EB Automotive Software Factory” is able to handle this complexity by implementing recurring work processes as a production line for software. This means that integration and validation steps can be reproduced and traced at any time.

Elektrobit (EB) passes Daimler IOT Tests

The AUTOSAR stack EB tresos AutoCore recently passed Daimler´s AUTOSAR 3.2.2 Interoperability Tests (IOT). Being the first supplier of a combined AUTOSAR 4 and 3.2.2 Stack, Elektrobit successfully passed Daimler´s IOT tests with its AUTOSAR stack “EB tresos AutoCore”.

As a result, Tier1 suppliers can now use EB tresos AutoCore for the latest Daimler production according to AUTOSAR 3.2.2 as well as for other projects according to AUTOSAR 4. This enables Tier1 suppliers with a high “re-use” across different carmaker projects. The positive IOT test results are another step towards strengthening our successful collaboration with Daimler which has already been very successful in the area of Driver Assistance.
