LAS VEGAS (CES 2024, LVCC West Hall Booth 4117), January 10, 2024 – Elektrobit today announced that two of its top executives—CEO Maria Anhalt and Senior Director Dr. Moritz Neukirchner—have won MotorTrend 2024 Software-Defined Vehicle Innovator (SDVI) awards. The awards were presented in a private gala held during CES 2024.

Anhalt received the Motor Trend SDVI Leader Award, which recognizes outstanding senior executives leading teams transforming the automotive industry through the broad adoption and application of software solutions. Since joining Elektrobit in 2020, Anhalt has been a tireless ambassador for software-defined mobility, educating customers, partners and the industry to its possibilities. Customers and partners value her software experience and passion as well as Elektrobit’s 35 years of collaborating with automotive leaders; road-proven lineup of software and services; and unparalleled expertise. Anhalt is a sought-after speaker at major industry events, like the Leadership Summit at SAE’s World Congress Experience and as keynote speaker at the Automobil-Elektronik Kongress in Ludwigsburg.

Neukirchner, who is Elektrobit’s Senior Director Strategic Product Management, Software-defined Vehicle, was named an award winner in the Expert category, which acknowledges outstanding subject-matter contribution within a specific SDV discipline. Neukirchner is re-shaping development practices and collaboration models to enable cloud-based workflows and collaboration across the automotive supply chain. Through his LinkedIn newsletter “The Automotive OS Perspective,” social media posts, podcast interviews and speaking engagements, he is shining a light on what SDVs are and what impact they will have on the industry and society at large.

The MotorTrend program, now in its second year and presented in partnership with BlackBerry Limited, was created in honor of the next phase of automobile technology. Its goal is to elevate and highlight those who are leading the automotive industry’s tectonic transformation from hardware to software. The awards were designed to recognize the contributions of those in the automotive industry who are redefining how cars are designed, built, driven, and experienced.

“We are honored to win the MotorTrend SDVI award,” said Anhalt. “Both Moritz and I see ourselves as educators and, frankly, ambassadors for the industry as a whole when we speak or write about SDVs and related topics such as Automotive OSes and the importance of partnerships, collaboration and open-source projects. By raising the profile of these larger trends and industry issues, we create awareness and opportunity for every company and individual in the greater automotive ecosystem. Being acknowledged for our contributions is extremely gratifying. Thank you, MotorTrend!”
