Beyond Boundaries: Impacting China’s Luxury EV Landscape

The company

Founded in 2017, the client is an industry-leading Chinese new mobility and intelligent research company, geared toward the industrialization of future-oriented smart vehicles.

The challenge

The autonomous driving landscape is dynamic; the challenge lies in creating a robust software framework that not only meets the evolving demands of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) but also adheres to stringent safety standards. The Chinese luxury EV maker needed a solution that could accelerate the development of their autonomous driving domain controller while ensuring safety, security, flexibility, and high performance.

The solution

To address this challenge, Elektrobit supplied the 2nd generation EB corbos AdaptiveCore software and EB corbos Studio. These components were instrumental in creating an AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform based software framework for the new controller. Crucially, Elektrobit partnered with BlackBerry Limited, integrating the QNX® Software Development Platform 7.1 and QNX® OS for Safety operating system. The result was a powerful and pre-integrated foundation for developing ADAS electronic control units (ECUs) with ISO 26262 ASIL D certified OS technology.

Benefits:

  • Winning the deal allowed Elektrobit to enter the Chinese luxury EV supplier purchasing system and establish a benchmark for ADAS projects.
  • It enabled integrating the QNX® Software Development Platform 7.1 and QNX® OS for Safety operating system.
  • Elektrobit’s products gained exposure among COEMs (car original equipment manufacturers).
  • The deal provided opportunities for cross-selling and upselling Elektrobit’s AUTOSAR Classic Platform (CP).
  • It facilitated the gain and ramp-up of local know-how in the Chinese market.

Elektrobit’s added value

Elektrobit software powers over five billion devices in more than 600 million vehicles. It bridges the three segments of the emerging software-defined vehicle marketplace: traditional car makers, industry newcomers and tech giants, offering car infrastructure software, connectivity and security, automated driving and related tools and user experience. While the software-defined mobility revolution represents a shift in mindset and approach for many, for Elektrobit, it is second nature.
